asleep for today

Hand in hand we fall asleep 
Not knowing what the future holds 
Side by side we cuddle close 
As we shiver in the cold 
Inch by inch we slowly drift away 
Into another time and day 
Heart to heart we began to feel 
Love, beauty and something real 
Minute by minute time begins 
To slowly just fade away 
And it's then that we realize 
We'd rather stay asleep for today. .
