The Wedding Walk
The Wedding Walk

We pull up in the Bentley, flying high as a kite,

Pedestrians have stopped who is that girl in white,

Emerging slowly all smiles , poise and charm,

Wave to the shopping  crowd then take my offerd arm,

Down the gravel path,a rare minute on our own,

Past the tangled grass and the unkept upright stone,

To the open wooden doors where usherd brothers wait,

They smile and inform everyone's made time and date.

Ahead half turned familier friends and family faces,

But we will not be rushed it's a wedding not the races,

And I will not give away those precious early years,

Oh how you made me laugh so few were childhood tears,

Now strong and independent you blossomed to move on,

But there is still a bond between us forever will be strong,

So slowly down the isle, in step, in time, no falter,

You will soon be married but forever are my daughter.
