Waking
Waking

I wake and turn

To watch him sleep

This man who made me complete

Eyelashes, dark upon his cheek.

I brush my fingers,

Through his hair

Whilst he dreams on Without care.

I study All the lines upon his face

Smooth skin, and reference

His lips purse and pout.

Smiling, I look on His eyes flutter

Open to mine He begins to mutter.

I place a finger to his lips

And drift into Those eyes of his

My sanctuary.

The chocolate hue With flecks of black

And golden tones Are looking back.

With this I see into his soul

And know once and for all

That he is mine

And I am his.
