HAPPINESS
HAPPINESS

Happiness is elusive and hard to find.

It's mostly with someone else, time after time.

I search endlessly, in many ways.

If it comes, it goes. It seldom stays.

I often dream happiness will come one day,

But it rarely makes it, leaving me to pray.

Pain and suffering seem to never end.

I wait for happy times to begin.

What should I ask of the mighty one

When happiness finds no place in my life?

Should I cry out louder and holler for some

Miracle to spring swiftly within my sight?

Oh! My happiness, where are you now?

I long to claim and hold you, somehow.
