The Universal Question
The Universal Question

So I am I
It was said last
But what is this I
The universe asked
I know I am here
The place that is now
Perhaps I can hear
What it's all about
Perhaps I can see
The parts of my mind
Previously darkly
And difficult to find
And so it was heard
And so it was seen
This was preferred
To feeling sterile and clean
But it still didn't say
What is this I that I see
My creatures and my clay
Cannot decipher me
So a power of high thought
A decent mode of speech
Those two things ought
To finally figure out this
And here we are now
Doing the bidding of the stars
Their fabric and their crown
To repeat the questions they asked
