MY FRIEND
MY FRIEND

MY  FRIEND

He is not the best,

but…he is not worse than the rest.

He’s got used to take a sober view of things,

he knows quite well

what hard  life sometimes brings.

He is at his sixty,

By God he is gifted

with wisdom, kindness and intellect.

Though he is not perfect

nothing is out of his range,

he is so dear to me

at his golden age.

It’s his wisest and everlasting time,

he hears quite well the churches chime,

The questions “When?” and “How much?” are not for him.

If he wants to play games

then…. only in a family team.

His questions are: “with whom?” and “where?”

It’s not too late for him to compare,

it’s not too late for him to chose,

he has no time to lose.

At the end of my devotion,

seriously speaking,

without any emotions,

I would like to say:

I will never betray

 my devoted friend,

he is the one I will never offend,

up to the very end.

What would life be without friends? It is friends who help us to carry on in our hour of need. It is friend that inspire us to move to greater heights. Your poem shows us what friends can do and how valuable they are, Friends are precious. Zishan
