Cheers - I hope some of my scribbles will survive a while - especially those I've written as tributes like Mandela - that was penned as his 90th birthday loomed.

Thanks for your kind comments on 'Dusty Books' - I am fortunate in having grown up with the influence of a grandfather who wrote verse all his life - and indeed wrote his life story entirely in verse. As a result I was writing from about 10 yrs old.

Lol! I'm actually completing my MBA but have always been a respecter of words. I love words... I love language in general. Your work is very good! You have a unique way of articulating your perspective, very cool.

Thanks for your comments. Just curious, what did you mean by "disarming" for Sessions with She? Thanks again for reading and commenting.

mr. blome it's funnie i've never thought of my poems as long before but i must say yours are quite succinct. i love the whole less is more kinda thing. and as far as your scrolling comment, i consider that a huge compliment, to enjoy reading someone's entire poem no matter how long or short and if you're moved by them well thats a cherry on the top... many thanks and a huge smile

Retiring is not an option--if you thought the pay for poets is bad, the retirement plan REALLY stinks...

Daring Eyes

Under deep dark dreary thunderstorm clouds
and a deluge of rain
birds are hard to find and see
while the branches of trees bend and sway.
Back porches shield neighbors’ want to quench
bodies, spirits, minds and also hearts.
Hid under porch roofs where stories are told
and daring eyes are in control-
until the third fast lightning strike,
inside for the night,
power grids hold completely,
finally the harsh weather subsides,
relaxing daring eyes,
to sleep with peace after prayer.
