Description
Last year, I published my first book, 'The Cicada', a crime/mystery set in the 25th century and located in Queensland and Melbourne, Australia. It took many years to complete, and was a huge learning exercise, but I am now in the editing phase of its sequel, 'A Death in Making'. This second book is a murder mystery, set in Queensland, Australia, and in Argentina.

'The Cicada' can be purchased from many international sites, including the main one: http://www.lulu.com/product/paperback/the-cicada/11176751

I have written poems since I was a child, but only recently have begun to publish them. Short stories are also a new interest, as I have decided to write offshoots from my book from time to time. So far, three have been completed.

It is difficult to escape our past, especially a romantic affair that's gone astray. The dreams seldom disappear, they hang in there and fester Sometimes we are a prisioner of our idyllic past gone bad. You have shown the pain and suffering that lingers inspite of your yearning. You question your actions. you are devoured by love that does not reciprocate. You are experiencing a moment of sorrow. However, you will survive. Love is endless. lost love can be replaced by true love. Never give up. Zishan

Hi Inge, Thank you for your suggestion on 'Morning Land.' I changed it and it sounds better. Always can use some help. I added the last verse also, which I had forgotten until now. I'm glad you liked it. Warm thoughts, Carol

Thank you for the beautiful poem. It reminds me of my joyful tears a couple years back. I have no idea where they came from nor where they went. Those tears are still healing my soul as did your beautiful words.

Thanks for the comment on A prison of the mind. I made the changes and it does sound better. I`ve only written a few poems in my life and am greatful for honest opinions. That`s how we learn. Blessings,Veronica

I seem to be unable to get the editor on this site to behave properly for formatting a short story, so if you would like to read 'Cockatoo Junction', please visit my other website: http://redmatilda.deviantart.com/art/Cockatoo-Junction-157544499

Love and Seasons

Come to me before the Autumn time,
come to me before the leaves do fall,
come to me before the Winter time
and you can lay your head
upon my shoulder fair,
untie your golden hair.

Bring to me no chill of Winter time,
bring to me no tale of sad farewells,
bring to me the fruit of Summer time
and you will find your love
in our soft embrace,
kisses rained upon your face.

Speak to me of time when love was strong,
speak to me of Springtime’s morning light,
speak to me of evenings sweet and long
and you can stay within this place
where you once were free,
and gave your thoughts to me.

Come to me before the Autumn time,
come to me before the Winter storm,
come to me before the Spring sunlight
and warmth of Summertime
will ease your aching heart,
and we will never part.

Come to me before the Autumn time,
bring to me no tale of sad farewells,
speak to me of evenings sweet and long
and you can lay your head
upon my shoulder fair,
untie your golden hair.
