True love can never be replaced. It is seldom found but often appreciated.Love creates a burning desire for another.It is our best hope for peace and solace. Your poem points to the ingredients that"s necessary to sustain an induring love, a love that' cherished. Zishan

Thanks, Zishan! Yes, scars of the heart are always the hardest to heal. But, not impossible. It's the release that's the hardest; letting go and allowing to feel again.

Love Gone Awry

I didn't say I love you just to see if you would care;

The pain of the realization was just too much to bare.

I didn't hug you to see if you would hug me instead,

But you didn't and I was left alone, sobbing in bed.

I didn't kiss you to see if you would miss my touch,

But I guess the answer was 'not so much'.

I don't understand how we got here?

Not having your love; my worst fear!

To love someone more deeply than ever before;

Only to find that they've closed the door.

Left out in the cold; confused and alone.

Regretting the leap of faith; picking up the pieces on my own.
